DESCRIPTION

Mr. Lima is a civil engineer with more than 10 years of experience in geotechnics. He has been the professional responsible for the Atlantic Nickel geotechnical team since November 2012 and was the field engineer responsible for lifting the Atlantic Nickel tailings dam, managing contractors and suppliers, and achieving significant cost savings due to his extensive experience with tailings dams. He was also responsible for successfully participating in all auditing and reporting procedures for different national mining and environmental entities and oversight agencies in relation to tailings dam safety. Before that, he worked on different geotechnical projects for Pimenta de Ávila, a renowned consulting company in Brazil. Working for PA, he provided consulting services to several companies in the mining sector, among them: Bunge Fertilizantes, Votorantim Metals, MBAC Fertilizantes and Yamana Gold (Jacobina Mineração). At Jacobina he was the resident engineer for two years working on team coordination, quality control of the cyclone and review of projects in works related to the operation of dams and the transition process involving the closing of one of the dams and the beginning of operation of the current dam. Mr. Lima has a Master’s degree in Geotechnics from USP, an MBA in Project Management from FGV, a degree in Civil Engineering from UFRN and a Post-Graduation in Dams Safety at UFBA.
